Top 5 updates for Easter

April 17, 2019

The Easter Bank Holiday weekend provides the perfect opportunity to spend time enjoying your home. During the four day weekend, give your home a spring clean and use some simple home updates to refresh your space.

Our specialist team of interior designers at Cranberryhome have compiled their top 5 simple style updates you can implement in your home ahead of the warmer months.

  1. Add some colour – The days are finally getting longer - thanks to the clocks going forward. It’s the perfect month to add a splash of colour to your home to lift your mood and complement the change in season. Paint one feature wall, or discover some bold accessories to add style. We love the Pantone colour of 2019 which is Living Coral.

  2. Use the weekend to channel you inner Marie-Kondo – Start the new season by saying goodbye to those items you no longer need cluttering your home – or ones which no longer spark joy. Decluttering your home is the ultimate way to kick-start your spring clean as it makes you feel so much better! Decluttered home = a clear mind.

  3. Add houseplants – Houseplants are a great way to inject some life and colour into any room. They’re particularly popular in bathrooms right now - typically a room that people often struggle to personalise.

  4. Get out in the garden – Make use of the longer days and make a start on improving your garden. If you haven’t already, do your first lawn mow of the year, and start injecting some colour and ornaments back into your garden to get it ready for those May Bank Holiday BBQ’s (Weather permitting of course!)

  5. Style your surfaces – If you’re on a budget, change things up by moving things around. This isn’t limited to items in the same room – switch it up completely and try some new ideas. We have some great styling tips to get you started:

  • Books don’t just have to sit on the bookshelf or in a cupboard! They are great to add some character to a room. Pick your favourite book and use it to raise objects off your surfaces to add different levels.

  • Three isn’t always a crowd, they can actually work well together! Team up a tall item, shorter item, and something a little bit different to add interest to your surface.

  • Layer items by placing some things in front of others and some off to the side of each other which will help to give more depth.

If you’re struggling to get it just right, our experienced and specialist team at Cranberryhome are able to help you create the perfect room or home ahead of the spring and summer months.
